Devin Cornish received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre Occupational Therapy at Sonoma State University. During this time, she volunteered through United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay (UCPNB) at recreation camps which encouraged and assisted children in building functional and meaningful skills to participate in play, leisure, and social participation through learning new skills of riding bikes, swimming, exploring parks, and connecting with peers. She then continued at UCPNB as a teacher assistant at a school for children with special needs, specifically in a classroom that utilized Conductive Education while working with children with motor disabilities/impairments.

From there, Devin pursued and received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University. Devin completed her clinical internships at various pediatric clinics throughout the East Bay as well as a Veteran Affairs inpatient rehabilitation facility. She was able to work with children of all ages from 1 to 21 years as well as middle/ older adults ranging from 30 to 85 years old. During her time in pediatrics, she was able to work with individuals with a variety of diagnoses including: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Intellectual Disability, learning disabilities, Orthopedic Impairments, developmental delays, and feeding difficulties.

Devin’s love for pediatrics stems from wanting to be a facilitator of hope and adding meaning into children’s lives at an early age through play, social interactions, leisure, and participation in activities of daily living which enable them to live a life without limitations. Her passions in pediatrics include motor impairments/ disabilities, sensory integration, and feeding therapy.

In her spare time, Devin enjoys going to concerts, drawing/painting, snowboarding, and spending time with family, friends, and her pets.
