Marcy Renfer OTD, OTR/L graduated from California State University, East Bay with a bachelor’s degree in human development. She continued her education by obtaining a Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2021. Her previous experience working as a teacher as well as her clinical internships in a school-based setting have motivated her pursue her passion of working with diverse pediatric populations, particularly through play and creative interventions. As an occupational therapist, Marcy also has experience providing in-home private and early intervention services, as well as Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). She has worked with children with various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, and Intellectual Disabilities. Her belief is that collaboration with clients, their families, and their multidisciplinary teams can help achieve each child’s unique goals and maximum potential. She is working on obtaining specialized training in the Zones of Regulation curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears, Bal-A-Vis-X, feeding therapy, sensory integration, and creating sensory diets.
In her free time, Marcy enjoys cooking, creating art, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
