Valeen Campos graduated from San Jose State University with a Master’s of Science and a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy, along with a minor in Child Development. After completing clinical internships at a skilled nursing facility and a school district, she challenged herself by working in rehab/nursing facilities to work with the elderly population. After a few years, she realized how much she missed working with children and decided to transition to pediatrics here at Therapy At Play.
Valeen has experience working with children of all ages from 6 months to 16 years old. She also works with children with various disabilities including: autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities, developmental delays, Down syndrome, ADHD, deaf and hard of hearing, motor deficits, and feeding difficulties. Valeen has made extensive efforts to be educated and trained in various specialties such as sensory integration, Handwriting Without Tears, the Zones of Regulation curriculum, Bal-A-Vis-X, and feeding therapy. She is also bilingual and able to offer therapy sessions in English or Tagalog.
In her spare time, Valeen loves cooking, photography, singing in the car, and spending every free moment with her husband and the new addition to the family, their daughter.
